Looking for information on my great great grandfather Samuel Duff Anderson who came out to New Zealand. Samuel was the son of James Anderson and Sarah J Duff. He was born 3 October 1842 Ballymacrelly, County Down. He died in New Zealand 16 September 1928. I have a copy of inscription from cementry headstone Ballymacreely, Killinchy which has the following Anderson's mentioned.

Joseph Anderson died 13 Dec 1853 aged 85 years

John Anderson (Joseph's son) died 2 Aug 1818 age 18years.

Thomas Anderson (Joseph's son) died 28 Jan 1827 age 34 years

Mary Anderson (nee Coffey) (Joseph's wife) died 29th Jan 1835 aged 59 years

Mary Anderson (Joseph's daughter) died young

Also interred here Sarah Jane Anderson nee Duff wife of James Anderson died 23 Sept 1853 age 33 years.

James Anderson died 24th Dec 1888 aged 80 years

It doesn't say that James Anderson was the son of Joseph Anderson but I am assuming he is and that he and the Sarah mentioned are my Samuel Duff Anderson's parents.

I don't know of any brothers or sisters that Samuel may have had. James may well have remarried as Sarah died quite young.
