kilkie from derry
Hi
I've just started searching on behalf of my friend, John McKenzie. John's mother was Sarah (Sadie)Kilkie. John's grandfather is possibly James Kilkie 1868 - 1954 from Derry. he came to the Gorbals district of Glasgow and married Mary Waters, 1873 - 1911 That is all I have at present other than knowledge of Michael Kilkie who is a top DJ in the Glasgow music scene and his namesake who is a chef and writes for the Sunday Mail in Glasgow. If this is any help, you can get back to me. Good luck!

My Grandmother was Kilkie from Derry
I never knew her as she died when my mum was only 12 her dad (O'Donnell) died when she was 6 (my mum is now 67). My Grandmother had two sisters Sarah and Hessy who brought up my mum on the Brandywell road in the city after her death and worked in the shirt factories. As far as I know there were also two brothers - George and Johnny. I can find out more details if needed - there is a connection to the Family "Fisher"somewhere also. my email is *** ***If you wish to email McCourt, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links

kilkie
In the forties and fifties there was a very talented irish dancer called George Kilkie who lived around the Limewood or Tyrconnel Street areas...in fact i think he won a world championship in irish dancing and was a bit of a celebrity.
