Dennis Mullins (b. 1816, d. 1904) and Ellen Howes (b. 1816, d. 1891) were married in Southwark, London on Sept 6, 1835. Jeremiah and Catherine Mullins were witnesses. I'm guessing those two were Dennis' relatives. In 1851 Dennis is listed as a bricklayer on the census in Middlesex. At the time the Mullinses had lodgers John and Charles House - I assume these are Ellen's brothers, although it doesn't say they're brothers-in-law of the head of the household. Both lawyers, Charles was born c. 1834 and John c. 1836, although I'm not sure why it doesn't say 'lawyer's apprentice' as they were in their teens. It struck me as odd that 'House' is written down when I KNOW it's Howes. I found a source to back that up but I can't find it off-hand at the moment. Maybe it was a Gaelic pronunciation and the enumerator wrote it how he heard it. The long and short of it is that I have not been able to find any baptism for Dennis or any of the Howes kids.
