Ward Family of Wicklow?
Hi, I'm just starting out on the Irish side of my tree and am a bit confused on how exactly to try and find anything out.
I have a Michael Ward born 1841 Ireland who married Isaballe Chope Baker born Devon, and they married and lived in Plymouth.
Michael's father was a farm labourer in Wicklow.
His name was James Ward. I have searched on the Griffith's Valuation and found 4 James Wards in Wicklow - any idea how I can narrow it down?

Wicklow Wards
FIf possible locate Michael's marriage registration. His mother's name will be on it so you will then know who James Ward was married to. Using that, locate the parishes in Wicklow for these 4 James Wards. You will be looking for James' marriage registration (it will have the names of his and her parents which will establish the family back another generation) and for Michaels' baptism which might have his exact date of birth. If you are out of country, hire a licensed genealogist from Wicklow Co. to search the four churches. Expect to pay. I have found that genealogy research in Ireland tends to be pricier than in Canada or the USA. You are fortunate to have only four churches to check through.
Regards and best of luck
