Hearn, Kilfarrassey, Islandikane
My ggggrandmother was Mary Hearn who married 1836 James Kennedy from Woodstown, Annestown, Co. Waterford. It was probably a mixed marriage. We do not know much about Mary Hearn except that she must have died about 1848 or a bit later. Recently I was told from cousins in New Zealand that a nephew of Mary Hearn, Nicholas Hearn emigrated with James Kennedy, a son of James and Mary Kennedy nee Hearn to New Zealand. Nicholas Hearn was from Kilfarrasy (Kilfarrassey), Islandikane near Fenor. In the census 1901 there was Ellen Hearn nee Burke in Kilfarrasy who was a widow and lived with her son John b. 1869, daughters Margaret b. 1871 and Alice b. 1872 in the same house. Michael b. 1874, another son, lived 1901 unmarried in a separate house in Kilfarrasy. Then there were two other households in Kilfarrasy with Hearnes in the census 1901. Some were spelling their name Hearn some Hearne.
Has somebody a connection to Hearn of Kilfarrasy?

Re: Hearn, Kilfarrassey, Islandikane
Hi there - have you had any replies to this? I am related to those Hearns and I have a lot of information about Nicholas Hearn and some about James Kennedy in New Zealand. They married sisters and were in business together quite successfully. The only thing is I am not entirely sure how my family is precisely related to Nicholas. I go Anastatia - Thomas - Martin Hearn and I think Thomas was Nicholas brother. Be great to exchange information.

Hi xineob
I am still interested in a contact re: information about the Hearn family form Kilfarrassey, Co. Waterford, IRL. My ggggrandmother was Mary Hearn. She most likely was the aunt of Nicholas Hearn who emigrated together with James Kennedy from Woodstown, Annestown to NZ. The three other contacts I reached out did not have a family tree.
Regards Marlise
