On the 1851 Scottish Census my 6 x Gt. Grandmother, Mary Allen, states her birth place as Remnick, her daughter, Mary Ann Wilson, states Darnickremnick. So far have not traced any place in Ireland with this name. Could it be with her Irish accent the Census Taker thought this was what she said! I wonder if she could have been saying Limerick. Help please - anyone!
