Learys from Cork near Kerry border
Strong oral tradition places my Leary clan's origin in Cork. (I realize that historically this is true) But my research shows my line in Kerry near Cork border east of Killarney back to at least 1800. Anyone researching Leary and Callahan from this area? 24/02/2006 9:09 pm

Learys Near Kerry Border
Hi Maureen..Hope you are still active in this forum. I am looking Learys- GGG Arthur around Inchigeelagh, GG John, same area. I also have a Florence who maybe a brother or cousin to John. His (Florence) obit in Faribault, Minnesota, 1907 mentions that he came from County "Carney", and sis and I thought it may be Kerry, and he came from the Rathmore area. We do not have anything concrete to go on, except a Parish record for Arthur in Coolmountain, near Inchigeelagh, which we are not 100% sure of. Hopefully you are still in contact with this board, and I shall await any ******If you wish to email hlearyo, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links

BHUI SEPT
Hi Maureen & Helen. Do either of you know if you have a connection to the O'Leary Bhui/Bwee/Boy Sept? I'm currently working on a theory that I may be a descendant of a Richard O'Leary, b. 1795, Tooreenean, (Iveleary) Cork brother of Maura Bwee O'Leary the poet. I am in touch with a couple others with connections to the Burke side (Maura married a Burke) with whom I have a 95.4% DNA match. Still searching for those needles in the haystack, namely my g.g.grf. Richard Leary and g.grf. Michael Leary. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks. Don ******If you wish to email dbjoleary, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links
