I understand there was more than one workhouse in Cork. I have found my grandmothers brother was in a workhouse before he joined the British army in 1907. He was killed in WW1. I have his military paperwork, but I would like to know something about the Cork workhouses. How did one get to the workhouse and a list of inmates. Is this possible. My grandmother was not in a workhouse, I suspect she was farmed out to family when her mother died.
