I have been puzzling over this for a number of years. My father-in- law Richard Carroll was born in Kinsale, I visited his birth place with him in 1999. He told me that there was an old lady living in quite a large rambling run down house in Cork, living only in the downstairs rooms who was related to him. The house should have been left to the eldest son of the eldest son, which would have been him and subsequently my son, because he never went back to Ireland each year to register he lost the claim to the house, I understand that the claim was not helped by the fact that his sister Rebecca informed the authorities he was dead. I cannot find any information on this and have no idea where to look. Can anyone give me a starting point. Lyn.
