Wexford (county)
Has anybody heard of a Martin family from Enniscorthy Co. Wexford who were actors in the late 19th/early 20th centuary, travelling actors I think. It is a family legend that my great-grandmother was from this Martin family but I cannot find out anything about them or this type of actor from that time. Any information would be great.

I have a Patrick Martin (married to Mary Murray) born 1825 in Enniscorthy. He was a Baker, and then enlisted in 1854 in Liverpool as a soldier in the 44th Regiment. I'd be interested to hear any information you have on Martins of Enniscorthy, particularly if your research has uncovered the actors. BTW, I have a photo of Patrick and Mary. Their daughter was Sarah Martin, born in the 1840's, who married into the Army and ended up in Halifax, Yorks. Would love to hear any information you have. Caroline
