I am new to this forum so please be kind!!My great grand father was born in Sligo in 1855 (according to 1891 England census). His name was Thomas Doherty (his father was John Doherty). Thomas was born in 1855 I would love to find out more about him but finding it diffucult. Anyone with information please contact me. Thank you.
ps the family have spelt the surname about 5 different ways and eventually ended up with Dockerty.

Do you have any info about John Doherty or who he was married to? I have a John Doherty b 1829 married to Rose McCafferty. Don't know if there was a son Thomas.
I do know there was an Edward, a Michael and a James. Michael was my grandfather....he and James came to NY.
