Mary Leslie
My ggm Mary Leslie married John Walsh and lived in Carrickmacross. She was born about 1850 and had 5 children I know of; Patrick, Mary, Mary Anne, Philip, Catherine (my gm) and John, between about 1870 and 1882.
Any information on Mary leslie or John Walsh would be appreciated.

Mary Leslie, John Walsh
I too am looking for information on Mary Leslie and John Walsh. They are my gggrandparents. Their son, John Walsh was my ggrandfather. He was married to Anna Duff at St. Joseph's Church in Carrickmacross. They later emigrated to New York and had five children, including my grandfather, Philip Walsh. My ggrandfather, John Walsh died around 1917 under mysterious circumstances. Any additional info on these ancestors would be great!

Re: Mary Leslie
Mary Leslie and John Walsh were married in the same church as his son, ie. St Josephs Carrickmacross in 1869. Mary's father was Dr. David Leslie and lived in Chapel Lane Carrickmacross at the time of Mary's wedding, and her mother was Annie Fealy also of Co Monaghan.
Theres a chance that these are the same Leslies as those of 'Castle Leslie' who came into Ireland from Scotland in the 1600's but were originally from Hungary. If this is the case, we could well be descendents of none other than......'Attila the Hun'.
