Patrick Morley born Claremorris circa 1818
I have traced my fathers family tree back to the above gentleman. Anyone come across him in their research would appreciate any further info. All I know is that he married Bridget MacDonald also from Claremorris born circa 1820 and that they emigrated to St.Pancras area of London before 1836. Regards Terry Morley11/10/2011 2:20 pm

Patrick Morley
The people you are describing in your forum entry are familiar to me. I have also traced part of my family tree back to a Patrick Morley who was born circa 1818 in Clairemorris and who lived in St Pancras with his wife Bridget in St Pancras in the mid-1800s.
They had a daughter (amongst other children) who was born in 1856 and who was the mother of my paternal grandfather Thomas William Nicholls.
I believe Patrick Morley had a brother who was called Michael and who also lived in St Pancras near Patrick & Bridget Morley.
The birth certificate for Hannah Morley gives the mother's maiden surname as Macdonnell which is slightly different to your MacDonald.
Unfortunately I have been unable to get back on either Morley or Macdonnell lines before Patrick Morley and Bridget Macdonnell.
I would be interested to know whether you ever managed to find Patrick and Bridget Morley on the 1861 Census as I have failed to do so. I believe that some of St Pancras is missing on that particullar census.

Bridget Morley
We also have Bridget Morley in our family tree. Their daughter Catherine Morley was out great grandmother. We know Catherine married Willliam Barnes. We would very much appreciate any information you could let us have on the family.03/03/2012 3:09 pm

Sorry to take so long to reply to these. The emails were going to spam and I have only just found them.
Mark - I haven't gone found out much from the 1861 census but agree with you there were two families of Morleys in the St.Pancras / Holborn areas, at that time, a lot of their children had similar names which caused a great bit of confusion.
Jayne Bridget Morley [nee MacDonald] married Patrick Morley
They had; as far as I can tell [see above] the following children

Catherine 1840
William 1841 - my great great grandfather [married Emma Valler]
John 1843 [married Sarah Valler]
Joseph 1847
