Rahilly or O'Rahilly family members ( Knockacorrin)
searching for any O'Rahilly or Rahilly family member in the scartaglin, knockacorrin areas of Kerry.
Had Uncles and aunties in 1950 named John and Mary, Dan and Nell,
also cousins named Michael,Denis,Rose and Peggy.
I think Rose and Peggy later became nuns.

Rahilly or O'Rahilly family members ( Knockacorrin)
Danny,
Did you get the info you needed about the Rahilly's of Knockacorrin (kunukahorrin)? My grandmother was born there (Mary O'Healy (Haley)) ). I believe there is a connection to the Rahilly's.

Mary Healey
Hi Danny,
Where do you live ? I'm wondering what your difficulty was in connecting with the Rahillys. I'm sure they are still there in Knockacorrin. I have a first cousin (once removed) in San Francisco (Healy) who was born in Knockacorrin.
I used to visit Knockacorrin with my grandmother when I was a young fellow.
Best regards and Happy New Year.

Johnny & Mary rahilly
Danny
the information that you have received so far is correct. Johnny Rahilly married Mary Healy and settled in the family farm in Knockacorrin. two of the sons Jack & Dano remain in the farm and the majority of the family moved to chicago. One of Jack's sons played gaelic football for kerry. two daughters became nuns and i believe did missionary work in Ghana.
Both Johhny and mary have died.
Mary Healy was also born in Knockacorrin. she was my gradfather's sister( John Healy)one of John's sons sean moved to San Francisco in the 50's/60's
that would make us 2nd cousins i suppose
hope this helps

knockacorrin
knockacorrin is about 5 miles froms scartaglin you may find Carker on some maps which is about a mile away i think the electoral townland is Ballahantourigh. this was in folklore where the high kings of Tara went on their holidays AKA Summer Town
knockacorrin is simply a collection of farms now but once there were about 50 cottages in Bar na bhaile and Bun na bhaile (top and bottom town) in the mid 1800's
hope this helps
