Hello my name is Zelia Mullins (South Africa) and I am researching my husband's ancestry. His grandfather, Michael Francis Mullins came to South Africa to fight in the Anglo Boer War. After the war he settled in Cape Town and married Laura Fairbanks who arrived in Cape Town in 1902. She was born, I think, in Ballinafad, Co. Sligo possibly 1874. Her parents were Edward Fairbanks and Martha Maguire married 22 September 1869. Can anyone help me with further information. Please contact me on *** Thank you

Hello Zelia. I have today started seriously researching and recording my mother's family history and amazingly discovered very quickly that your husband and I have close ties. My mother's grandparents were Edward Fairbanks (Ballinafad)and Martha Maguire (Belfast). My grandparents were John (born 1880) and Annie(Pearce). My mother, the eldest, was Louisa Mary Fairbanks, her brother was Edward and sisters Kathleen, Maud and Margaret. I still have a long way to go but do have further information and have started the family tree. I live with my husband and one son in a country town called called Mansfield in the State of Victoria in Australia. My husband is Tim and we have two sons - Jack (29) and Ben (26). Ben lives with us. I thought I would just make contact to let you know we exist. I have a niece living in London (just had her first baby) as well as other family in Epping and Norfolk. I travelled Britain and Ireland quite extensively during my twenties, as well as India and Europe.
I look forward to hearing from you - Kathy Crawford :)
