Michael Joseph Kelly of Loughrea
I am looking for details of my great granddad Michael Joseph Kelly born in Loughrea Galway about 1834. His father's name was Joseph Kelly. He joined the 1st Bat. 18th Foot Royal Irish Brigade in 1854 and enlisted at Bradford Yorkshire England. Grateful for any help.

One single family, the Kelly’s from Carrowroe Lodge (Lickerrig parish, outside Loughrea) produced no fewer than ten officers. I wonder would this be the same family? Michael Kelly was living in the townland in 1821.
