I have a John Burke, born 1841 in Galway. He moved to England and served in the 3rd Foot Kent Buffs Regiment. He married in 1880 in Dover, Kent, to a Mary Ann.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of Burke families in Loughrea. I have a Margaret Burke married Thomas Hall in 1813 in Loughrea. Have you checked the regiments papers for more info. The LDS has the parish register for Loughrea. You probably know this already, John
Burke m Mary Ann McLoughlin Dover, June 1880 reg. 2a 1396. I think you will find him with his married daughter Mary J King in 1901. Also Mary Ann McLaughlan is in Charlton Kent in 1871 with husband Patrick. The marriage certificate for John & Mary should give JOhn's father's name might help to locate him in Galway.
