NYHAN FAMILY POSSIBLY FROM DUBLIN, CORK OR TIPPERARY CIRCA 1850 ONWARDS
I am trying to trace the Nyhan family who lived in Tipperary during the 1800 to 1960's I believe. They lived on the Emly estate of the Mountmorres family and there were 8 sons 2 daughters. 2 sons were called Timothy (one having died in the dentist chair) and a son John who I think became a Chief Constable of Dublin at some point in the late or early to mid 19th century early 20th he died in about 1966-68. My grandmother, Mary Nyhan was born 20th May 1888 at Emly I think. Relations lived in Dublin, Patsy Nyhan and her brother Timothy - during the 1960's - though they came to England to visit and live in London at one time. another relation, Catherine Nyhan died in the 1960's - blood or marriage by name? What happened to Timothy Nyhan, father of the family who was a coachman (retired)and living in Ireland at the time of Mary's marriage to her second husband, Henry Wareham in 1923 in Redhill Surrey? Who was his wife and Mary's mother and when and where did she die? Also Mary's siblings and extended relations? We know nothing of them as Mary never spoke of them. One became a Nun and went to S. Africa as Sister Serviata (name was Una we think) - can anyone help please?
I am doing the family tree and cannot trace Mary's family at all. The house (estate) in Emly has gone, the Mountmorres (de Montmorency) family titles are extinct and I cannot find them, Mary is related to them via her mother I am told. Mary is related to Sir Michael O'Dwyer (assassinated at Caxton Hall 1940) ex Lt. Governor of the Punjab and married to Dame Una.
Can anyone please help me fill in some gaps? appreciated, any help at all.
