I am researching my g/g/grandparents & other family members, Thomas McComb, about 1809, Blarris, Co.Down & his wife Mary ? Thomas was a Bootmaker by trade and he was listed as deceased by 1864 on his son's Robert William emigration papers to Australia, (in 1873 to New Zealand)
Robert William was born 1835 in Ballycashone, Co.Down he also was a bootmaker until he joined the Royal Navy in 1854,trained as a Gunner & discharged in 1877, length of service.
He married Jane Elizabeth nee Ruse from Cornwall,England.They had 4 daughters & 2 sons.
A son, William James was born in New York, 1862 to Isabella McCalb.
Robert must have had siblings so I would very much like to find any information on them also his Mother's surname.
Any info would be very much appreciated.
