Hi
I'm looking for any information on a Samuel Cochran born in County Down around 1795, married to a Sarah Makinson. they had a son called Robert Cochran, born in County Down in 1825, who married a Jane McCormick in Glasgow, Scotland in 1848.
I've only just found out that my roots are in Ireland rather than Scotland! Any help on finding the right Samuel would be greatly appreciated.

My COCHRAN family came from Northern Ireland
My G.G.Grandfather was a Watch & Clock maker in LURGAN, Northern Ireland,early 1800s His name HUGH HALL COCHRAN, one of his sons HUGH COCHRAN (junior) was also a Watch & Clock maker and had moved to NEW ROSS, Co Wexford. Hugh (juniors) son SAMUEL COCHRAN my Grandfather was a watch and clock maker firstly in NEW ROSS, then for 50 + years in DUBLIN.
My G.G.Grandfather had serveral Children and one was ROBERT who moved to GLASGOW, but I don't know a lot about him. he had some sons who again were Watch and Clock makers in Glasgow. but that is as far as I can go at the moment.
