Hi, I looking for information on the BARRY and SHEA families which united with the marriage of ELLEN BARRY and JOHN SHEA in Youghal in 1826. They had Stephen Shea b 1828, John Shea 1831, Catherine (Kate)Shea 1834 and Ann Shea 1836. Some of the names of witnesses and sponsors include CARTY, FOLEY, SHEA (James, Elizabeth)and HOGGART. John jr emigrated to NSW Australia about 1848 - have information on this line, but would appreciate finding out more about the others, and the relevant SHEA and BARRY families if anyone can help. Thank you.
Don't know if part of your line, but I have a Lady Ellen Barry 1631 in Cork m. to Sir Arthur Denney in 1651. Her parents: Sir David Barry, 1st Earl of Barrymore, 1604 and Lady Alice Boyle 1607 in Youghal.
Hi Sharon, Thank you for your reply which I have only just found. I haven't got anywhere near that far back yet, but appreciate the information which i will save for future reference. I still haven't found out which Barry family my Ellen Barry who married my John Shea was from, yet :)
