Seeking any and all information on the parents of William (born 1809) and Thomas (born 1813)McCarthy in Bandon. From Thomas's marriage certificate in England, their father was Charles. Probably Catholic although all church attendance in England was C of E. William was buried in the Catholic plot in Hartlepool.
Was Thomas born in 1844 and married Mary Ellis. He went to USA in 1867. If so he is my GGGgrsndfather. He had a son Michael who married Margaret Enright in New Orleans in 1879.
I have found records of both my ggg-grandfathers renting land from the Earl of Bandon in 1853. They were Daniel McCarthy and Lawrence Hurley. Daniel had at least one son, Thomas Joseph, who emigrated to NYC in 1888. Could there be a connection?
Thomas McCarthy married twice in England: Ann Harper in 1850 and Elizabeth Ann Dixon in 1860, both marriages took place in County Durham, and Thomas died in West Hartlepool in 1877.
