Brougham/Broughan Family , Tulla County Clare
I am trying to trace my great great grandfathers family who apparently came from Tulla, in County Clare.
My great great grandfather Denis Brougham or Broughan came to New Zealand with his brother William on board the ship 'Constantine' on 1 January 1854. Denis was born about 1839, Tulla, County Clare. His brother William was born C1836 and there is a sister Catherine who came out to New Zealand later on and she was born C1830. Their parents were William Brougham or Broughan and Anastasia Keniry. I haven't been able to find any information on either parents. I don't know if there were any other family members. Any help would be appreciated.

Jeanette, I guess I'm like you but I can't get back any farther than Charles Henry Broughan. He was my Grandfather but I understand he was born in West Haven conn. My fahters name was Charles Henry Broughan Jr. my name is Edward Broughan22/09/2006 5:17 am

Murphy family fromCounty Clare to Lancashire
I'm looking for info about the family of James Murphy farmer who left Co. Clare (probably Kilmouny)at about the time of the famine 1845-55ish and went to Lancashire, England with his family and many friends and relatives. Family included his daughter Honoria (b. 1838ish); Friends included John Frawley and his wife Ann Pyn,plus son Maurice and relatives included families O'Donoghue (related by marriage to the Murphy's and another Murphy family (relationship not known).
They all settled in the Wigan and Oldham area; they all kept in touch ; they all had many children. Does anyone know anything of these people or their descendants? Or does anyone anything about Killmouny sometimes spelt Kilmaney in the English records? Which spelling is right? if its not Kilmouny in nw clare nr the Galway border where is it?
Thanks,
Lorna
