I am researching my gggrandfather William Stephens, born in Duffcastle in abt 1834. He migrated to Australia sometime before 1873. His marriage certificate gives his parents as Frederick Stephens & Mary Ann McGowan/McGovan. There is a kisting on the 1821 Census for Federick 30, Mary 26, Jane 5, Eliza 2 and Mary less than 1.
I am interested to find out if these are my relations and any further information on the family past and present.

my name is Peter Cole from Queensland Australia. My mothers' name is Freda Murray who was born in New Zealand. Her father was Leo Patrick Steven, and older brother Benedict, and other brothers Bill and Jack/John. There was also a sister Mary.
My mothers father married a Saunders from Australia.
We can not figure out my mother got the surname of Murray?
Her ancestory is from Belturbet.
We understand that members of the family were part clergy. The family left Ireland around the 1880's and went to America and New Zealand.
My mother imigrated to Australia around 1940.
