John Michael (Jack) Smyth
I am trying to find any info. on the above. He was born in the townland of Aughakilmore (Aghakilmore) in Cavan on 18 Jan 1911. He emigrated to New York in the 40's. I believe in Cavan he was a teacher but went to US with two of his brothers to go into business. I believe he died in New York June 85.03/01/2008 10:11 pm

John Michael Jack Smyth
There is a family of Smyth (Smith)still residing in Aughakilmore.Several of the previous generation emigrated to New York, possibly in the 30s. There was a Jack Smyth, Barney Smyth, James Smyth, and at least three Sisters. All except James died in U.S.I think there was a Mary and Bessie among the girls. I think one was married to a Coyle man.09/05/2012 10:29 pm

Re: John Michael (Jack) Smyth
Sorry for not replying. I did not visit this site for a while.Irish Census of 1911 records John Michael Smyth as born in 1911. He was the youngest at that date. His siblings were Bridget Maria 14 years, Mary Anne 12yrs, James 11 yrs., Kate Agnes 9 yrs., Bernard Joseph 8 yrs., Thomas 6 yrs., Patrick E 4 yrs., Veronica 2 yrs., As far as I know All except Patrick, Veronica, and Kate Agnes emigrated to US. James returned in later years and died in Aughakilmore when he was near 100 yrs. old. Patrick's family still reside there.***If you wish to email comaskey, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links
