My grandfather, Pierce Turkington left for Greenock, Scotland in the late 1890's. My father, David, was born there in 1902.
Hi Fionna, re your lost relations.
My name is David Parker and i live in greenock. My mothers maiden name is Turkington. her mothers name was Henrietta Wooler,who married an Edward Turkington. As far as im aware Pierce Turkington may be my grandfathers brother. David Turkington may be my mothers uncle.
I dont have sufficient information as yet to clarify this.I do know that they originally came from Armagh, but not sure of dates. I have spoken to my mother and she is trying to contact her uncles in Australia.
