James Hughes/Jane Collins Armagh
I am interested Hughes-Collins family. They had 4 sons Thomas b. 1857 (liverpool?), Michael b. 1858-9, James b. 1860 Bessbrook and John b. 1864 Killeavy. James (Sr.) was railway official and may have moved to Newry at some point. Thomas (m. Mary Ann Bell 1876) and John (m. Margaret Kinney 1889) were both married in Newry. 06/01/2010 4:55 pm

James Hughes/Jane Collins Armagh
Hi Jackie,
I noticed your interest and within it a James Hughes born in 1860, my late father in law John Joseph Hughes was the son of a James Hughes possibly born in 1860 (deduced from the 1911 census). Could they be one and the same? Do you have more on him?
Many thanks

John and James Hughes
I am interested in a James Hughes son of John Hughes and Eliza Bryne who lived in Armagh. After he was widowed he lived with his sister Ellen at 2 Tower Hill. He had a son John who emigrated to New York. Any connection?12/03/2013 11:13 pm

Re: James Hughes/Jane Collins Armagh
To Bob Houlden--James married a woman named Margaret. They were enumerated in Barrow-in-Furness in 1891 English Census and he was still there a year later. I could not find any more information about James and would be interested to hear more from you. PS I missed your post until today. Best regards, Jackie Hughes

Re: James Hughes/Jane Collins Armagh
Hello Oakvillemom
The names you list do not line up with what I know but I am still making connections. James was from the townland Keggall in County Armagh. James (b about 1824) was living with his niece Catherine Byrne in Newry until his death in early 1892. He was a widower at the time of his death and his 3 sons, Thomas, James and John were all living in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England. His son Thomas emigrated to the US but John did not.
There is a Byrne connection but I have not been able to figure it out.
I did find a James married to Elizabeth with a son Arthur baptized in 1835 in Killeavy Upper.
Best regards,
Jackie
