Wallace Family- Gransha, Down County
I have hit a dead end. This is all I know about my 4th Gr Grandfather Robert Wallace, his wife Mary Ann and 2 sons and Daughter lived in Gransha from 1838-1860s. The Family moved to Belfast. Then stayed until his death. He was buried in Gransha,Dromora 1873 and Mary Ann 1895. My 3rd Gr. Grandfather always said his father was born in Scotland but moved to Ireland and Married.
If anyone can help I Thank You in advance.

I believe that Robert Wallace is my 3G Grandfather. My 3g Grandmother Mary Ann Wallace died on 27 April 1895 at 76 Dundee Street Belfast. The informant was my 2G Grandmother Susanna Harper (nee Wallace).***If you wish to email fwharper, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links

Re: Wallace Family- Gransha, Down County
Hello,
I am so very excited. It sounds like the same Wallace Family. Since I wrote that post I
still can not find Mary Ann's Maiden name. My Father always said that Robert Wallace was born in Scotland but that was all he knew. I do have info on Susan Harper Black and Robert and Sarah her children. My 3GrGrandfather James paid for Susan and family to move to Kearney, Buffalo, NE. They lived with him. I am sorry to rattle on but am so excited.
You are the first Person that I have come so close to the Wallace Family in the 5yrs I have
been researching. You can email direct at *** if you like. Hope to hear
from you. Pam

Re: Wallace Family- Gransha, Down County
It must be the same family. My Great Grandfather was James Harper Susan (Harper) Black's younger brother. Do you know for sure they came from Gransha near Dromara? I assumed it from an 1873 death certificate which seems likely to be Roberts and a vague memory of my Grandfather talking about Gransha. There is also a Gransha near Bangor County Down. I have participated in the family finder dna test and have some matches that include Wallace in their family tree but nothing concrete yet. I have a yah oo account in my user name if you wish to contact me directly.***If you wish to email fwharper, Subscribe and use the Private Message (PM) links
