Is anyone connected to the Hickey family who lived in Waterford in the early 1800s? I am looking particularly to find the family of Ellen (Nell) Hickey, occ dressmaker, who married Robert Irwin occ Hatter and emigrated to England in 1841 ish with their eldest son William b. 1840 Dublin. I have not found their marriage regn but it could have been in or around Waterford or in Dublin.
Their other children were born in England, namely: Robert, George, Georgina, Charlotte, Elizabeth and John Valentine. Everyone worked in milinery or cloth trades. I would very much like to find this last branch of the family. Does anyone know anything about Ellen's origins please? Many thanks.
