Looking for information on these families from the Cloghangcody and Ardfinnan areas. Specifically a Patrick Myles married to Mary Prendergast. They supposedly had at least 4 children, but I know of only two names: Thomas who married Julia Lonergan inherited the family farm in the townland Cloghanacody, Rochestown in the Parish of Ardfinnan.One story is that it was during this generation that a great fire destroyed the home and killed 4 children. Supposedly, the ruins are still visible to this day. Another story says that the Myles eventually fell on bad times and the homestead was purchased by the Hanrahan family. The Myles were evicted, and all the children married into the poorer classes in order to get homes. Edward Miles of Ballylaffin, Rochestown may be part of the same family. Beyond 1800 the spelling of the name changes from MYLES to MILES.

Thomas' sister Bridget Myles married Patrick Kelleher in 1842 and later moved to the Castlequarter/ Fourmilewater area of Co. Waterford.
