Bridget Ryan married Simon Byrne
Good day all, I am looking for the family for Bridget Ryan. She was born about 1822 somewhere in Tipperary. She married Simon Byrne possibly before going to the US by 1850, when her first child was born in Illinois. They later settled in Dubuque Iowa by 1855 where the remainder of their children were born. She died in Iowa about 1884. Any information would be well received.23/04/2010 3:18 pm

Ryan
Hi
I'm sorry I don't have any info on Bridget. I am though wondering if there is any connection to my Margaret Theresa Ryan born C1838 in Cashel Tipperary to Timothy and Catherine Ryan ( nee Piggott)
My Margaret Theresa Ryan came to Australia in 1859 aged 21 yrs.

Bridget Ryan & Simon Byrne
Hi, I have Simon & Bridget as my great great grand parents,I know they came from Tipperary and County Kerry. Their son William Joseph Byrne born 9/12/1862 Dubugue, Iowa died 12/18/1937. He married Cordelia Frances Heeren,. One of their children was Josephine Byrne, my paternal grandmother. ... I am looking for when they came to the US and all the info I can get about the family in Ireland.
hope this helps, :)

Re: Bridget Ryan married Simon Byrne
HI,
This message just got to me yesterday (guess it went around the Horn). I'm not sure which of the Allen's you belong to. Aunt Jo married Chalie Allen.I'm thinking maybe Michael Allen? So, Simon Byrne married Bridget Ryan. Simon and his brothers Thomas and one other came to the US in 1847-8. They settled for a time in Illinois where Simon married Bridget ( they did not come over together). Their eldest child Mary (Margaret) was born in Illinois in 1850. Thomas and Simon both worked on the rock Island Railroad building the bridge between Illinois and Iowa. Simon later settled in Iowa where the rest of the children were born. Bridget died in 1874( i need to check that.. this is all off the top of my head) and left Sion with the little kids who were taken in by Michael and his new wife and Joseph and his 1st wife (who died shortly after they were married). I have more if you are interested. Happy St. Pats Day!!
