Michael Homes was my 2times great grandfather. I am trying to find out more about him, his wife, and family. Michael was born abt. 1821/1822 in Ireland. Areas that I have associated with Michael are: Co. Roscommon, Bumlin, Gortlusta, Strokestown, Gortoose, Ephlin, Tarmonbarry. Michael married Anne Casey. I found a marriage between Michaelem Holmes and Annam Casey in February 1862 - Strokestown Roman Catholic Parish Thomas Holmes and Mary Murtagh were the witnesses. Michael and Anne had five children: Mary, Bridget, Edward, Anne, and Catherine. Bridget and Catherine both immigrated to the United States. The 1911 Irish Census Shows Mary Married to a Michael Carlos. It appears Michael lived to be 101 / he died in September 1922. According to the 1901 and 1911 census Michael was a widower, farmer, and living at house 1 or 2 Gorttoose – Co. Roscommon, Parlimentary District – North Roscommon, Poor Lane Union – Strokestown, District Electoral Division – Bumlin, Barony – Roscommon, sub district – Culliagh.
It appears that Anne Casey died in 1889 – Strokestown
