Fran, I can not help you much other than to say you are likely on the right track. My ggg g'father was a Owen Campbell from Drumcong born about 1800. He married Ann McGoldrick. Their two sons John and Owen both emigrated to Massachusetts. Owen went to Harvard becoming one of the first Irish Catholic doctors but died young. John was a successful contractor. I know from nosing around in the land records that the Campbells were in this part of Roscommon and neighboring Leitrim.
