Minnicks of Clara, County Offaly
I am a descendant of John Minnick (wife, Ellen) who came to the US about 1850. We believe he is the son of Patrick and Rose Minnick (Minnock?) from Clare. My grandparents had done extensive research and had visited Minnick/Minnock relative in Clara in 1965, but their information has been lost. We would love know more about the family. 12/03/2011 5:57 pm

I have just seen your message. I wonder if the person I think was one of my ancesters could be the same as yours. I have a marriage certificate for Patrick O'Neill who married Elizabeth O'Neill in Abbey, Renfrew Scotland; on the 16th June 1871. Then they were in Ireland when their children were born. On the certificate HIS mother is named ROSE o'neill( nee Minnick) and his father is William O'Neill. I would be very pleased if you could give me information on where they were from. Thanks.26/03/2011 6:59 pm

Rose Minnick
Our Rose married Patrick Minock and came to the US arouond 1850. I have not seen any connection to an O'Neil family. Our understanding is that Rose, Patrick, and their four children came from Clara or Tullamore in County Offaly.29/10/2013 10:54 am

Re: Minnicks of Clara, County Offaly
Hi, I know this is a very late reply but I am from, Clara, co. Offaly. Just a quick note to say the minnock families are still very much around. I'm sure if you checked the 1904 and previous census it would go a long way to helping you pin them down.
Regards,
Gary

Re: Minnicks of Clara, County Offaly
My father is Tommy Minnock from Clara and he remembers minnicks from america visiting when he was living in church street in Clara in the 60s.
He said he believes he has some pics of them and remembers him bringing this toy pistol and holster.
His father was Tommy minnock also and his grandfather was John Minnock.
