Wallace Family
I'm looking for details of my husband's grandfather's family. His name was William Wallace, born 1885 in Ballina. He worked as a gamekeeper in the Castlebar area before serving as a shoeing smith in the 5th Royal Irish Lancers Cavalry during the Great War.
He appears in the 1911 Census in Dublin, married to Kathleen Guinan from Co Kildare. After the war, they spent some time in India and Egypt before settling in Rochdale, Lancashire.
Does anyone recognise these details? I'd love to find out more about this side of the family tree.
Thanks for reading
Sonya

Thank you so much for your help. So far, I haven't been able to find any trace of parent's names or siblings, so I'm a bit stuck.
Fingers crossed that someone may be able to help me find a little piece of the jigsaw that will enable me to push my research a bit further.

I've now found Michael Wallace on the 1911 census living at Coolcronaun, Mount Falcon. His wife was called Lily, and they had 9 survivng children, so there is plenty there to keep me busy!
