Hello!
I am trying to find more information about my great-great-grandfather Roger KEANE (born 1821 in Aillemore, and died 1901 in same). He had 8 grown children: Bridget, Patrick, Mary Delilah, Austin Charles, Thomas, Margaret, Roger Jr (my ancestor) and Honora.
Roger Sr's wife was Bridget HYNES (also from Aillemore). BTW, Roger's surname is listed as CANE in Griffith's Valuation.
Many of his children emigrated to America, but eldest son Patrick stayed with his father until his death.
I'm hoping to connect him to Lewis O'KEANE (born 1721), mentioned in the book "Irish Pedigrees" as being the first of the Ulster O'CAHAN clan to settle in County Mayo.

(PS - my KEANE blood comes from my father's mother, Mary, who was Roger Jr's daughter. My father's given name was also Roger.)
