I'm searching for Geelan's from Longford. I'm looking particularly for the parents of a John Geelan. The only info I have is that John Geelan was born 1777 Cloonageeher, Longford and married Mary Nisbitt. John had a son Coote (possibly also John but nicknamed Coote) was born 12 May 1820 and married Jane Bothwell.
Coote had a son named Christopher James Geelan who migrated to Australia and had a family there. I am unsure if Coote and his wife also moved to Australia. I am trying to find John Geelan's family to add to my tree but due to the fact that I'm in Australia and all the records are in Ireland It's a very difficult task. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
