In 1841 census of Felling on Tyne Co.Durham England is a Mary Quin Widow and her five children Patrick James Thomas Felix and Agnes they were living in the home of Oliver Dalton her brother and his family...I was to discover much later that she a Dalton had married a Thomas Quin who died in Ireland......later still I was to discover that Patrick Quin and his wife Agnes Dalton of Creenagh Kilmore Armagh were doubly related Thomas deceased was the brother of Patrick and Mary Dalton his wife the sister of Agnes.....Five of Patrick and Agnes Quin's family came to Felling on Tyne.....Thomas Quinn b 1829c Patrick b 1831c Margaret b 1833c married to William Douglas in Creenagh came with her sister Mary Ann b 1836c much much later Felix b 1846 came to Felling on Tyne.....Some stayed in Ireland......or went elsewhere ...I think that around 1850's that Patrick either died or they moved.....somewhere else in Armagh or surrounding counties .......In 1884 Agnes Quinn nee Dalton came to live with her son Patrick Quin and Ann McCart Quin....in Noble street Newcastle on Tyne dying there April 1886 she had senile decay so either she was brought or some one went to fetch her .....from those five children that came to Tyneside there are many descendents who have spread there wings and gone further a field some stayed in ther new countries and some returned ....so I am spreading outwards and downwards as I have 5 children with partners 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.....but I would like to get in touch with any connections in any part of the world but especially Ireland our second home that count ......Patrick Quin/quinn and Agnes Quin/Quinn nee Dalton RC's...in there tree......
Margaret Quin married William Douglas in The Stone Bridge rc Church near Kilmore Armagh which I think is now known as St Patricks RC church Richill Armagh......Everyone told me I could never reach back to my ancestors in Ireland but I have ...it took 20 years...
Hoping some more with the same people in there tree get in touch...every branch that came to England named there children the same .....the names of those that came here ....I understand ....but who are John.. Francis... James... Joseph...they pop up in every generation.... too...

Re: Quin/Quinn Creenagh Kilmore Armagh
Hello. I am descended from William Douglas(s) and Margaret Quinn b.1833 married Creenagh. I was born in Sunderland but now live in New Zealand. I have information on the Quinn family similar to yours but have been unable to find out anything about William Douglass before he and Margaret moved to Felling. He was born in Ireland but I have no idea where he lived - presumably near Creenagh. I believe he may have been Protestant; Margaret of course was Catholic.
