my great grandfather came from Ireland but I'm not sure where abouts.His name was Pierce Butler and his occupation was a cooper. His father was also named Pierce and he was a cooper as well. My gt.grandfather came to Liverpool and was married here in 1864, living with his wife Elizabeth and children until his death in 1891.If anyone can help with possible birth area I would be very grateful.

The site below shows a large number of Butlers. Several of these were named Pierce. I must apologise as I omitted to look at the date. I did notice Pierce was a cooper which might indicate he came from an area where there was either a distillery or a brewery.

Look at the list to your left and click on the Waterford Forum. I saw some info there about Pierce Butler while I was looking for the O'Connors, Lesters and Sullivans.
Funnily enough, my mother was a Butler from England and my father's connectionis to my grandparents Isaac and Fanny Lester. Who knows, maybe they are connected from way back!
