Pierce Turkington and wife Eliza were my great grandparents and parents to 3 sons, the youngest of which was Pierce Turkington (1874), my paternal grandfather. He married Mary Elizabeth Mellon and they had 5 children: George, Pierce, Annie, Vera and Rhoda (died in infancy). Mary Mellon Turkington died around 1936/7 after being left to care for their 4 surviving children while Pierce emigrated to Canada around 1930 in the hopes of making a new life for he and his family. He never saw his wife or his children in Ireland again. His second son Pierce, my father, moved to Canada in 1957 to find his father, and did.

The recent Pierce Turkington, as I indicated, was my father. He and wife Gudny (Norwegian) had 6 children: Glenn, Jun, Trevor (deceased), Beth, Paul and Lisa.

There is a strong Scottish connection through the Stuarts and indeed many extended family members reside in Scotland including Stuarts and Turkingtons. I too would be interested in putting the family puzzle back together so please share what you know.
