Hi I wondered if anyone had any ideas how to find the birth records of an ancestor who emigrated to Australia. We know the names of his parents, Robert Crawford a mariner and Mary Gibson and that he was born in Belfast, Antrim on or around 1831.We got the parents name from his Australian Wedding Certificate. He married a Scottish girl in Geelong, Victoria Australia in 1854 and then she returned to Scotland and he went missing. They had a very hard life, we think he was chasing the gold. 3 Of his 5 children died in Australia. He is our gg grandfather. We do not even know if he had brothers or sisters and have come to a dead end Even marriage records of his parents. Any help or advise would be really appreciated.Cheers pj
